A team of teen leaders who had just completed seven weeks of intensive KidsHub leadership training travelled 180 kms from their home to a village in Sodo Zion, Togo to run a camp for the excited village children and teens. Using their newly acquired skills the young team ran daily Bible studies, led music with the help of a KidsHub music group and ran a football match in the village – the KidsHub team vs the village football team. They distributed mosquito nets to the elderly and mothers with children, helped with village chores, went mountain climbing and celebrated the end of camp with a party. The village children also took part in a KidsHub media session and a Sports and Games event ran by the young adult leadership team consisting of Valaire, Fonetico and Wisdom. The three team leaders were themselves children when they first attended a KidsHub media training in their town of Lome. They are now key leaders and were the instigators of the KidsHub leadership training.
Togo KidsHubs is a great example of empowering young people to reach out to their peers and their community using skills they have learnt, to make Jesus known.
