KidsHubTV Producer Award Nomination

South African producer Cherise has been nominated for ‘Woman of the Year in Media’, for her work on KidsHubTV South Africa and other work with children in media.  The nomination was made by an entrepreneurial organisation “Woman of Stature” and the award ceremony will take place in Johannesburg, South Africa, on 24 March 2018.
KidsHubTV South Africa – reaching the hearts and homes of children

Cherise writes:

“The first season of KidsHubTV South Africa has been doing very well and already resulted in 44 KidsHubs being formed. I thoroughly enjoyed working with the children, and training them in presenting and basic filmmaking skills on the set of KidsHubTV, and still hear from many of them.  One of the young presenters phoned me a few nights ago to find out when we’re doing season 2! The series is currently being broadcast in South Africa, on two separate channels, as well as in Malawi, and Kenya. Broadcasters in Uganda are also looking at broadcasting the first 14 episodes.

I also had an opportunity about 3 weeks ago, to provide the full series to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.  One of our friends, whose daughter, 6-year old Mia-Cara has rare Lymphoblastic Leukemia, is the first child in Africa to receive the T-CAR Cell treatment at that hospital. We wanted to give Mia-Cara KidsHubTV episodes to watch while in hospital, and we gave her 5 extra sets of the full series, to give to other children a the hospital. What a joy to hear how she is enjoying KidsHubTV in the midst of her difficult treatment in hospital.  Our prayer is that the heart of this little girl will be encouraged as she watches these stories, and that Jesus would visit her in that hospital.”
Cherise was also recently featured in one of the local Christian magazines in South Africa, “Finesse Magazine” where she shared her life story and how she met Jesus. Cherise had a difficult childhood including her parents’ divorce and the pain of constantly moving, attending 13 different primary schools. Cherise shared how meeting Jesus and experiencing His love and care during those years, healed her and ultimately led her into the world of TV and film production.

Congratulations Cherise and well done KidsHubTV South Africa.
