The first two episodes of KidsHubTV were filmed in a game park in South Africa last month. The team wrote saying, “we had a really fun time, and the children and puppeteers were wonderful…for most of them; this was the first time they had done something like this. We tried to use children from the local community and not from the big cities, which worked out so well and really blessed the children. One father said to me: ‘When we received the audition information, I told my wife to not even bother, as the children from the city would get the presenter roles.’ So he was really surprised when his daughter was called back to join us on the pilot episodes.”
The South African team used and adapted scripts from the Indian version of the KidsHubTV show. They plan to film Episode 3 at the end of July and will hopefully then use these to apply for funding to continue on filming the program.
The team signed off by saying, “we are so grateful for the resources that you have made available to producers around the world, and want to say a huge thank you to you, and all those involved in the animations, scripts, stings etc. and everything else. It is because of these resources, and people like you (and all those who work with you) that KHTV will be a success around the world. For Africa’s children!”
